Making Homemade Italian Seasoning

Making your own Italian seasoning is an easy way to avoid a trip to the store. (We all want to avoid unnecessary trips to the store because one trip usually costs at least $30, lol). Italian seasoning can be used to flavor all kinds of dishes from lasagna to meatballs. Making homemade seasoning is really easy. It’s just measuring out the right proportions of herbs and mixing them up. You should store your Italian seasoning in an airtight container for future use.

Recipe for Italian Seasoning:

3 tablespoons each dried basil, oregano and parsley flakes
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Feel free to add or delete any of the above. The best thing about making your own spice combinations, is that you can tailor them to suit your own needs and tastes. Play around with your own different ratios until you find a taste that you like. Some people may want to add more heat and some may want less. It is all up to you.
